Pick Up Hitch
Pick up Hitch Fitting Instructions
⦁ Remove all existing drawbars or hitches not required for the fitting of the new hitch.
⦁ Using a lifting mechanism present outside frame to back end of the tractor.
⦁ Place bolts in back plate ¾ way around PTO or tighten if necessary to align up the bolt holes underneath tractor (this may not always be required).
⦁ Insert bolts on the bottom plate of the hitch. It may be necessary to remove the drop base by removing the hinge pin in order to access the bolt holes.
⦁ Tighten all bolts securely and use Loctite or similar to secure bolts in place.
⦁ Refit drop base with hinge pin if removed earlier and secure with locking bolt supplied.
⦁ Fit top arm extensions (using top arm pin if provided).
⦁ Start tractor and raise lifting arms fully.
⦁ Attach lift link to top arm extensions and lift rod ends to drop base spigots.
⦁ Using a jack or lifting mechanism, lift up drop base so hooks are clear to open.
⦁ Adjust lift rods to fit required height so hooks will open.
⦁ Secure lift rods to the drop base spigot with cotter pin supplied.
⦁ Fit pull spring on hooks.
⦁ Fit cable or hydraulic cylinder for opening hooks and plug into the tractor.
⦁ Remove jack or lifting mechanism and lift hitch to ensure hitch is functioning correctly (if hitch does not unlatch adjust lift rods and try again).
⦁ Fit rubber buffer (the top of the rubber buffer may need to be trimmed as necessary to allow the hitch to open).
⦁ Grease all moving parts.
Note: ensure that the inside bolts are in place before removing the outside bolts which are used to secure the hitch or the bracket will fall down and all of the oil will be lost.
